Pat Avery (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference)

When a tragic accident took his oldest son’s life, this successful businessman, motivational speaker, pastor, and family man faced a depth of pain he’d never known possible. Darkness sought to take his life, but the love of God and his faithful wife brought him through.

Pat is the Director of Care and Correctional Liaison for Victorious Living, the prison outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries. Pat coordinates VL prison events throughout the United States while establishing relationships with chaplains in the corrections community. He also provides pastoral care to the incarcerated and their families.

He and his wife Anna raised six children and have 12 grandchildren. They currently reside in Florida.

Dr. Jeff and Mitzi Byrd (Friday Night Revival)

Their family’s dream was coming true—their son, Parker, had signed with East Carolina University to play college baseball. Life was good, and the path to professional ball playing was on schedule. But then came the news of a boating accident that left their son’s life and their dreams hanging in the balance. Darkness threatened to take away their hope, but the light of Christ showed them the way.

Now, on the other side of this painful trial, Jeff and Mitzi testify to the goodness of God. They have seen that there is always hope and a way with Him and willingly share it with others.

Dr. Jeff and Mitzi Byrd live in Greenville, NC, where they and their daughters cheer Parker and the ECU baseball team on to victory. Mitzi volunteers as a correspondence team member for Victorious Living, the prison outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries.

Randy Claypoole (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference)

Randy’s career in auto racing spanned 26 years. During that time, he served as a NASCAR chaplain and Public Relations/Media Representative and owned and operated a professional auto racing series called ISCARS DASH Series.

He enthusiastically served others for God’s glory until a series of disappointments sidelined this chaplain and former pastor for a season. Randy learned a thing or two about “church hurt.” Today, Randy is back on track, running his race and helping others do the same.

In 2024, he joined the Victorious Living Prison Event Team, an outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries, where he delivers hope to the incarcerated and helps those who feel disqualified for God’s race get back on track.

Randy lives with his wife, Tiffeny, in Florida.

Sheridan Correa (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

Sheridan struggled with feeling unloved, inadequate, and lost for much of her life. Her search for belonging led her through dark valleys of depression, drugs, attempted suicide, and incarceration. After failed marriages and the loss of her parental rights, Sheridan thought she had lost everything until she met God’s redeeming love and experienced the restoration power of the Gospel.

Today, Sheridan is a speaker, mentor, and teacher using her experiences as a Trauma-Informed Biblical Counselor and her life experiences to help others. She serves as the digital content manager for Victorious Living, the prison outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries. She hosts the life-changing broadcast Stepping Forward, where she helps incarcerated men and women process past traumas and find freedom behind bars.

Sheridan lives in Georgia with her husband, Nick. She has two teenage boys.

Michael Dixon (Thursday NIGHT Revival)

Michael gave his life to the Lord 35 years ago after childhood trauma and addiction had nearly destroyed him. Through his relationship with Jesus Christ, Michael was delivered from the heavy burden of shame and addiction. God’s love so changed him that he became a pastor and licensed addiction specialist.

Today, this former senior pastor of 32 years serves full-time as the executive director of his nonprofit, L.I.F.E. (Living in Freedom Everyday) Ministries. He is the author of “Casting Down Idols through the Power of the Gospel” and the host of the podcast “Casting Down Idols.” His 40-lesson bilingual curriculum, L.I.F.E. Ministries, helps others find wholeness and freedom in Christ Jesus.

Michael lives in Winterville with his wife of 39 years, Melissa. They have three daughters.

Cashae Edmonds (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

Growing up in a Christian household and raised to follow Jesus, Cashae went her own way and ran hard from God’s instructions. It wasn’t long before she was entangled in addiction, consumed with anxiety, and drowning in sin. After hitting rock bottom, Cashae surrendered her life to Christ and settled into the arms of her heavenly Father. There, she found everything she had been searching for and more.

Today, this woman of God seeks to help others become followers of Jesus Christ. She has a heart for prison ministry and street evangelism and currently volunteers with Victorious Living, the prison outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries.

Cliff Godwin (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference)

Cliff has had an incredible coaching career, with stops at Kinston High School, UNCW, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, LSU, UCF, and Ole Miss. He then became the head baseball coach for the ECU Pirates. Today, he is recognized as one of the top collegiate baseball coaches in the nation.

When hard work and wins could no longer ease the pain in his heart or overshadow the darkness that enveloped him daily, Cliff finally cried out to God. He found peace and an identity far more significant than being “Coach” in that place of surrender. He also discovered the gift of forgiveness and relationships.

Today, Cliff is committed to sharing his story, hoping others will admit their need for help. As ECU’s head baseball coach, he aims to be a godly role model who helps young men become more than great baseball players.

Kory Gordon (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference, Saturday Night Revival)

Kory was introduced to drugs, alcohol, and a life of promiscuity at a very young age. It wasn’t long before his addiction led to a life of crime and overdoses. Kory spent many years in juvenile corrections and went on to serve 13 years in the Florida Department of Corrections for drug trafficking.

While incarcerated, Kory met the goodness of God and experienced the supernatural gift of forgiveness and freedom in Christ Jesus. He dedicated his life to the Lord, became an orderly chaplain, and after his release in 2018, became a pastor, evangelist, and founder of D.R.E.A.M. (Damascus Road Evangelical Association Ministries).

Today, this husband, father, and full-time minister helps formerly incarcerated men successfully transition into free society through his ministry. Kory and his wife, Kasey, reside in Florida and are a part of the Victorious Living prison outreach team, an outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries.

Kristi Overton Johnson (Thursday Night Revival, Friday Morning Women’s Conference Host, Friday Night Revival Host, Saturday Night Revival)

Kristi experienced victory at the highest level in water skiing, holding the world record for women’s slalom for 18 years. But it didn’t take long to realize that no amount of worldly success can bring peace to the heart.

Struggling under the burdens of people pleasing, performing, and perfectionism, Kristi came to a place of surrender and gave her life to God. In Christ, Kristi discovered her true identity as a child of God and traded in her quest for ski trophies for a life of serving others.

Today, Kristi resides with her husband, Tim, in Greenville, NC, where she leads her nonprofit, Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries. They have four adult children.

Melisha Johnson (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

Although Melisha grew up in the church, she admittedly played the religious game—she talked the talk but wasn’t walking the walk. Her lack of commitment to God led her down dark paths and years of incarceration in federal prison. But God didn’t waste those years or forget about his daughter. He met Melisha behind bars and showed her the difference between religion and relationships.

Today, this free woman is on a mission —to lead others to the One who gave her life. She currently serves in the Georgia DOC, helping women prepare for reentry. Melisha knows that Jesus is the key to a successful life on both sides of the prison walls. She also uses her freedom to educate others, especially the church, about supporting men and women behind bars.

Melisha currently resides in Georgia.

Deborah Jones (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

The trials Deborah went through almost took her out. Being raised by her grandparents and not having a relationship with her mom and dad led to a sense of rejection. For years, Deborah experienced low self-esteem, fear, and loneliness. But when all seemed lost, Deborah heard the Lord call her name. She surrendered her life to Him, was baptized, and began her life mission of helping others experience the power of the Gospel.

Today, Deborah continues to fight the good fight of faith as she passionately serves the Lord and shares with others how they, too, can know the author and finisher of their faith.

She lives in Grifton with her only husband of 32 years, Derrick. They have a son, two daughters, and one son-in-love. Their blended family includes three daughters, a son, and nine grandchildren.

Christina Kimbrel (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

Christina never made it to college; she didn’t even graduate from high school. By 13, she had left home, and her innocence disappeared as she fell into addiction and street life. Prison was a way of life by 18, and for decades, Christina remained trapped in a hopeless cycle of pain, shame, and self-pity.

But at her lowest point, and while going through the agony of heroin withdrawals, she cried out to God. “If You exist, please help me. I don’t want to live like this anymore.” God heard her prayers and responded to Christina like a loving father to his injured child.

With the help of His Spirit and His Word, Christina was transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, where she now ministers hope to those held captive by their past and current circumstances.

Today, Christina Kimbrel is an author, speaker, mentor, and women’s ministry leader. She serves as the production manager of Victorious Living Magazine, an outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries. She resides in Arizona with her husband, David.

Matt Mollison (Friday Night Revival Panel Host, Saturday Morning Men’s Conference Panel Host)

Matt never cared much for God. Instead, he set out to accomplish much on his own. It didn’t take long for him to learn that no accomplishment was ever enough, nor could it heal the pain in his heart. After years of addiction, Matt adopted an Atheistic worldview, where the thought of no God at all was more comforting than dealing with his shame and addiction.

When Matt felt his life was coming to an end, and he had nothing to live for, God intervened and showed him a better way. God freed Matt from the slavery of addiction and brought him into his God-given potential and plan.

Today, Matt has five years of sobriety under his belt and is passionately helping others find the peace and freedom of Christ through his podcast, “What Will They Say?” He helps people explore the legacy they leave behind by discovering their purpose here on earth. Mark Twain famously said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.”

Matt is a husband to his wife and high school sweetheart, Kristen, of 16 years. They have two children.

Tony Moore (Thursday Night Revival)

At only 16, Tony has had his fair share of battles. It started in his mother’s womb when the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. His lifeless body was airlifted to Duke Hospital, where he fought for his life.

Tony recovered, but his challenges continued, and he eventually found himself cycling through group homes in the foster care system. He grew angrier by the day and began to act out. But then came the gift of a respite visit in a Christ-centered home where God touched Tony’s heart through the power of God’s love and Word.

Grateful for God’s intervention, he wants people everywhere to know that weeping may come for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Tony resides in NC, with his foster family.

Kenny Munds (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference)

Kenny is one man with a guitar who sings for Jesus. In the ’70s, he was the lead singer for Brush Arbor, a 2-time Academy of Country Music award-winning band, and fronted legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Charlie Rich.

Kenny was headed for the big time until he fell deep into drugs and alcohol and was kicked out of the band he founded. By God’s grace, Kenny’s life was restored, and today, through his music and songwriting, he shares his story of hope and helps others find lasting freedom from worldly bondage.

Kenny is the founder of Kenny Munds Ministry and a member of the Victorious Living Prison Event Team, an outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries. He resides in Madison, Florida.

Miguel is a dedicated servant of Jesus Christ who is passionate about transforming lives with the Word of God, demonstrating His mercy and love, and guiding individuals to the profound understanding that “Jesus Loves You.”

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 18 while attending basic training in the U.S. Army. He went on to work with esteemed church leaders in the Republic of Panama, the United States, and Puerto Rico throughout his military service.

Following his military career, he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice and Valley Mental Health Community Services in West Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and an M.A. in Counseling from Liberty University.

In 2024, they joined the Victorious Living Prison Outreach Team, an outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries, where they lead the Hispanic Outreach.

April Raines (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

April has faced many disappointments in life, including a public family scandal, a failed marriage, and miscarriages. But as she leaned on the Lord, she found the strength and courage to move forward and the truth that God can restore and redeem even the most broken of dreams.

April wants people everywhere to know that it’s never over with God. There is always hope in God’s good plan. She shares this good news through her singing and preaching ministry in the US, Canada, and Jamaica.

April resides in Greenville, NC, and is married to Jan Raines. They have three children and two precious grandsons.

Denise San Miguel (Friday Morning Women’s Conference)

Life was good for Denise until the FBI came knocking on her door. Suddenly, her life was turned upside down as her husband went to prison.

Anxiety nearly crippled Denise until she remembered to cast her cares onto God. In Him, she found peace of mind in the middle of her storm and hope for her family’s future.

Today, Denise and her family are beautiful examples of God’s redeeming love and the power of forgiveness. She is a licensed real estate broker, business owner, and Hispanic Correspondence Director for Victorious Living, a prison outreach of Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries.

She and her husband, Erving Rodriguez, live in Orlando, Florida, and have two adult children.

Michael Taylor (Saturday Morning Men’s Conference)

A unique encounter with God on his front porch grabbed Micheal’s attention and captured his heart in a way that only He could. After Michael met God, his life changed forever, and he went from selling dope to bringing hope to inner-city youth.

Michael strives to place Christ at the forefront of everything he does, whether as a husband, father, artist, coach, or mentor. He is the founder of Raising Young Men, a not-for-profit organization. He and his wife, Chernora, live in Greenville, North Carolina, and have three adult sons.

Rob Whitner (Thursday Night Revival)

Rob started on the right track, but his broken heart led him down destructive paths after his family split. His poor choices led this once-star athlete and military man to prison for 20 years. But in that hopeless place, Rob’s life was saved when he met the One who could restore even the messiest of lives. Rob is living proof that nothing is impossible for God.

Today, Rob pastors No Limits Ministry, a church plant in Goldsboro, NC, alongside his wife, Helen. He is also the NC Director of Ministry Advancement for Jumpstart Ministry, a national ministry he started while in prison to help incarcerated men successfully reenter society.
